Your Lens Guide
While the focus of our mission lies on eyeglass frames that fit comfortably and seamlessly under headsets and helmets, we also ensure that we offer high-quality lenses that are safe, clear, and true to color.
We strive to provide lenses with excellent clarity without compromising on durability or color accuracy.
Glass tends to be fragile; therefore, we use shatterproof polycarbonate for all our lenses.
All our non-prescription lenses are made of shatterproof polycarbonate and offer 100% UVA/UVB protection (including the clear and yellow tints).
Typically, they are purchased in our ophthalmic frames, which feature magnetic clip-on sunglass attachments for outdoor use. The clear bifocal lenses offer the comfort—including the lightweight feel and flexibility—of Flying Eyes eyewear when no sun protection is needed.
Made from polycarbonate, they nevertheless offer the same UV-400 protection as our other lenses. When combined with our ophthalmic frames, they allow for a comfortable transition from indoors to outdoors—simply by attaching a clip-on sunglasses attachment to the front of the frame.
+1.0 Bifocal shown. +1.0 is available in our ophthalmic eyewear line, as well as +1.5, +2.0, and +2.5 in all frames.

Whether you need clear lenses for our Z.87-certified Golden Eagle Sport model, or a clear, blue-light-filtering lens for our prescription glasses or non-wrap-around sunglass frames—our clear polycarbonate lenses offer the same UV-400 protection as the rest of our range, while simultaneously providing you with a completely undistorted, untinted view of your surroundings.
Blue-light filtering clear lenses are available only for the Kestrel, Cooper, Kingfisher, and Osprey models, as well as for all clip-on compatible frames.

A darker, uniform gray tint with lower light transmission—comparable to a classic sunglass tint.
VLT (Visible Light Transmission): 11.41%
With a standard tint in the mid-range—a darker tint at the top to shield against harsh sunlight, and a lighter tint at the bottom for better visibility of instruments or the dashboard—gradient lenses are a popular choice among pilots and drivers.
The copper/amber tint reduces visible light without appearing as dark as a gray tint.

With a standard tint in the mid-range—a darker tint at the top to shield against harsh sunlight, and a lighter tint at the bottom for better visibility of instruments or the dashboard—gradient lenses are a popular choice among pilots and drivers.
The gray tint ensures unadulterated color perception while simultaneously reducing visible light.
With the added benefit of a bifocal segment in the lower portion of the lens, reading instruments is made easier without the need to move your head. If necessary, the height of the bifocal segment can also be adjusted in-house, even after purchase.
+2.0 Bifocal shown; available in +1.5, +2.0, and +2.5 in all frames.
VLT (Visible Light Transmission): 15.20% (8.43% in the upper section)

Dark blue mirrored lenses on the exterior, featuring a high-contrast amber gradient tint on the interior. From the inside, this lens resembles copper-tinted gradient lenses and therefore allows more visible light to pass through than gray lenses.

VLT (Visible Light Transmission): 21.14% (12.05% in the upper area)
Dark blue mirrored lenses on the exterior, featuring a high-contrast amber gradient tint on the interior. From the inside, this lens resembles copper-tinted gradient lenses and therefore allows more visible light to pass through than gray lenses.

An angle-dependent, reflective violet-green exterior with a high-contrast, neutral-grey interior tint.
VLT (Light Transmission): 14.94%
Radiant green mirrored lenses with a reflection reminiscent of the Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis). Color perception when looking through the lenses remains true-to-life, thanks to the neutral gray inner tint.
VLT (Light Transmission): 14.57%
Silver-mirrored lenses gleam like a polished metal shield and protect your eyes. Color perception when looking through the lenses remains undistorted, thanks to the dark, neutral-grey inner tint.
The darker tint provides additional relief for light sensitivity under bright conditions.
VLT (Visible Light Transmission): 12.99%
An angle-dependent, reflective exterior in red/orange/yellow, with a high-contrast, neutral-rosé interior tint.
The pink tint is excellent for reducing haze and enhancing object contrast during activities such as shooting or golfing.
VLT (Visible Light Transmission): 15.60%
Dark blue mirrored lenses on the exterior, featuring a high-contrast amber tint on the interior. From the inside, they resemble solid copper-colored lenses and therefore allow more visible light to pass through than gray lenses.
VLT (Visible Light Transmission): 12.65%
An angle-dependent, reflective exterior in red/pink/violet, featuring a light, exceptionally neutral-grey interior tint for precise color perception while simultaneously providing a slight reduction in visible light.
VLT (Light Transmission): 14.94%
This subtle green tint is frequently used in military applications and offers uniform darkening with only minimal impairment of color perception.
VLT (Visible Light Transmission): 15%
(Fun Fact: This VLT value is the origin of the name "G15"!)
If a glass cockpit does not need to be taken into account, polarized copper-colored lenses can effectively reduce glare from the road or from water surfaces.
The copper-colored tint allows for higher light transmission than a gray tint, thereby ensuring that you can see well even in low-light conditions.
VLT (Visible Light Transmission): approx. 12%
Polarized lenses with a neutral gray tint to reduce glare.
Not recommended for pilots, as they offer no additional protection against visible light or UV radiation compared to solid gray lenses, can interfere with cockpit displays, and make the detection of other aircraft more difficult.
VLT (Visible Light Transmission): 13.37%
A solid amber/copper tint reduces visible light without appearing as dark as a gray tint.
VLT (Visible Light Transmission): approx. 13%
Slightly lighter than conventional sunglasses, with a high-contrast, neutral-grey tint.
