The Cirrus SR22 is a modern, four-seat, single-engine light aircraft manufactured by the U.S. aircraft manufacturer Cirrus Design Corporation. This model has been available since February 2001 and serves, in a sense, as the "big brother" to the SR20, which has been in production since 1999. With this aircraft, Cirrus has set new standards in general aviation: the airframe is constructed largely from fiberglass composite materials, while state-of-the-art integrated avionics (featuring an Electronic Flight Instrument System—or "glass cockpit"—since 2003) and, above all, a built-in airframe parachute system (allowing the entire aircraft to descend safely to the ground via parachute in an emergency) constitute its most outstanding features. As the fastest aircraft in the fleet, it is ideally suited for long-distance travel. Thanks to its comfortable and climate-controlled cabin, this modern aircraft offers the most comfortable way to fly.
